PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE INTERNATIONAL
"We act fast. We empower people by providing them with resources to rebuild communities."
On 25 April 2015, an earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Nepal. Killing over 9,000 people and injuring more than 23,000. Avalanches slid, landslides buried, and homes collapsed. The effects were catastrophic. The earthquake triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest, killing 19 climbers and Nepali support staff. That day was the deadliest on Mount Everest in history. The earthquake triggered another massive avalanche in the Langtang valley, where 250 people were reported missing and most were never found. Hundreds of thousands of people were made homeless as the earthquake flattened entire villages across many parts of the country. Centuries-old buildings–including some at UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley–were destroyed. On 12 May, a major aftershock followed the 25 April earthquake, killing more than 200 people and injuring over 2,500.
With your help we were able to support their 2017-2018 winter campaign.

HOPE FOUNDATION - NEPAL
“My wish is to give them a secure life. Which includes: healthy food, high quality education, clothes and a comfortable family environment. I love to see them making their dreams reality. We will always support them as best as possible."

HOPE FOUNDATION
Hope Foundation is a beautiful children’s home that takes care of 12 kids located in Kathmandu, in the Boudhanath area. Founded six years ago by Bini and Iman, a young Nepali couple, with two enormous hearts - willing to help wherever they can. The children used to live on the streets of Kathmandu and are now part of this lovely family. Also, the two daughters of the cook, Anita, are part of this beautiful family. These two girls sleep in their own house.
Hope Foundation is supported in all costs of living, household, medical costs and schooling by the Pennywhistle Project which is founded by Alice Konijnenberg (a Dutch general practitioner from Amsterdam) and her husband Leslie Midghall (a well experienced social worker). They both share a huge love for people and especially for children. Their goal is to help them to fulfill their dreams with lots of passion, so in the end, they are able to live independently and share their love. So they can help others too and we create together a world full of love.
“It felt like coming home, immediately. They hugged me since the very first moment. They treated me like their big sister and opened up so quickly. I can imagine it would be hard for them as a lot of volunteers are coming and going all the time. My farewell party was amazing, but also sad. We absolutely didn't want to say goodbye.”
